general, there are four different types of rifles available in the market in
the recent times which are as enumerated below.
Break
Barrel or Spring Piston
This is actually the most common type of
air rifle available in the market which is devoid of pumping or cartridges and
hence you need not worry about these. With the help of an underlever, top level
or side lever you will be simply able to cock the rifle which will make you
absolutely ready for the shot from the rifle.
Pneumatic
or PCP
These types of rifles are pump rifles where
you need to force air into the rifle and prime it before making a shot with the
rifle. The high calibre rifles that are available in the market come only in
the PCP or the pneumatic type.
Gas
Ram
This type of air rifle is very similar to
the spring piston option where the gas ram is cocked with the help of a lever.
These particular cylinders of gas ram last for a long duration of time which
might even last for a number of years. Most importantly, these types of air
rifles are extremely easy to shoot.
CO2
These types of air rifles make the use of a
CO2 cartridge which can run out after some time of usage and needs a cartridge
switch to be operated. This type of rifle is not ideal for the purpose of
hunting and the rise in temperature can change the power of the shot.
